As part of a final year thesis in the ordinary degree program, each student was allocated a building proposal from a 4th year architectural student.
Each design was then developed by the architectural technology student to ensure compliance with current building regulations in addition to resolving any issues that may have been overlooked in the original scheme.
The scheme that I was given was a proposed redevelopment of the Ballymun Shopping Centre. The shopping centre was demolish and a multi-use Médiatheque was to replace it. This Médiatheque would provide many amenities to an area such as a gallery, library, theatre, cinema, café, etc.
