Technical Designer - Colour
adidas
Sep 2013 - Present (11 years 2 months)
In September 2013 colour was removed from individual categories and is now a part of the Direction team. This has given us the opportunity for growth within the role and has also helped foster a singular seasonal design language across categories. While still responsible for Running product, I now have the opportunity to create stories and give feedback and opinions to categories I wouldn't normally be involved in such as Tennis, Rugby and Training.

Global Colour Designer - BU Running
adidas
Apr 2011 - Sep 2013 (2 years 5 months)
Apply global colour direction to adidas Running footwear products. I was specifically responsible for Clima, Aktiv, Bounce, Vis-Tech and Cooler Performance Essentials ranges within the global business. I have experience working directly with accounts such as Decathalon, Deichmann, Footlocker Europe and Intersport and specific markets such as China, SLAM and France.
I took on additional responsibility for new material projects, particularly within the Aktiv range, helping explore a more lifestyle feel to such performance driven products.
One of my greatest personal achievement's and most notable project was Team GB presentation footwear for the London 2012 Olympics, which was seen on sportsmen, celebrities and royalty. I have also had the privilege to have coloured volunteer footwear for the UEFA 2012 Ukraine Poland tournament and marathon packages for New York and Boston including the "Aktiv mot Kreft" marathon package to honour the late Grete Waitz and support her foundation.

Footwear Design Intern
adidas
Sep 2007 - Aug 2008 (11 months)
During my internship I was responsible for colour and material research for the Y-3 FW08 and SS09 footwear and accessories collections. As part of my role I selected material packages for TN and carry over products that fit with the seasonal direction as well as putting colour stories together that aligned footwear and apparel. While in my final 3 months I took over the responsibilities of the departing accessories intern and helped finalise products within this range.
I was responsible for the "Wear a Smile, Wear a Y-3" holiday pack, as well as the Y-3 backgammon game as part of the SS08 holiday pack.
The style footwear team was responsible for both Y-3 and SLVR ranges and so I was lucky enough to be involved in the inaugral SLVR collection and saw how it developed from conception. My role was to develop a strong colour concept for the range, including blocking executions and stories by model. It was also important to know and learn how this would be merchandised back with the apparel pieces.
