Work with production to manufacture handbags in segments, from the outer exterior shell, the lining and assembling the other components.

Duties include:

Receiving the raw materials needed to assemble the handbags, assembling the component in the given time and postmarking it by the deadline given.

Collaborating with the design team occasionally to create new purse and bag designs, in line with the brand image. Duties involve conveying ideas through concept sketches, remote presentations, coordinating and curating prospective colors and prints, as well as patternmaking for prototype samples.

The tailor and alterations associate was responsible for assisting customers, taking measurements, as well as collaborating with the owner of the shop, who also designed some of the gowns, to come up with new concepts, collections and designs.

Responsibilities included:

Working with the customer service associate to assist clients with measurements, aesthetic adjustments to the garment (different beading placements, shortening sleeves, lengthening skirts, adding boning, etc) and making recommendations based on body type, desired outcome and other relevant factors.

Using measurements and alteration notes to tailor, sew, let in/out and adjust the garment to the specific measurements, specifications and aesthetics dictated by the customer and the circumstances.

Working with the owner to develop new designs for wedding gowns, prom dresses, formal gowns, tuxedos and other accessories, based on industry and design trends, client demographic preferences, as well as capturing the essence of a beach wedding on Cape Cod.

Designing soft goods and accessories for the formalwear such as clutches, mini satchels and pouches.
