Co-founded a successful sign company, building from 0 to $700K+ in sales in first four years. Learned about small business ownership & management. While I preferred to focus on graphic design and art direction; production coordination, project management and sales/sales support consumed the majority of my time.

Managed and performed all aspects of art direction, graphic design, print production, and application of graphics. Coordinated production, dealt with vendors, maintained artwork files, stock materials, and assisted sales. Received rave reviews for my design services from Toshiba, Microsel, NVidia, Commodore, and numerous other customers, vendors, and resellers.

Their monthly sales average tripled during my tenure due to an increase in the quality of design and product; leading to higher customer satisfaction, more repeat customers, and more word of mouth business. It was a fast-paced environment where I designed almost everything produced there, from business cards to large illuminated signs, primarily using Photoshop and FlexiSignPro. I also manufactured signs in-house, coordinated outside production in a separate facility and through vendors, maintained stock, ordered materials, and assisted sales staff and customers.

Designed and created signs utilizing a variety of design software and production processes. Software used included PhotoShop, Illustrator, PosterShop, and CasMate Pro. Learned the basics of sign making, vinyl cutting and application, engraving, printing, and dye sublimation.

Designed new parts and assemblies for conveyor systems. Acted as a troubleshooter for new assembly lines, researched the company archives, and updated existing components using AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D Mechanical Desktop, & GD&T. Also generated and maintained bills of material for assemblies on a company database.
