• Lead chemical management project assessing current condition of chemicals present in current export packaging and targeting a select list of substances of concern
• Support export distribution initiatives through ensuring supplier compliance and cost minimization
• Brainstorm and design packaging modifications to optimize current returnable packaging
• Analyze engineering part drawings to create preliminary packaging concepts
• Work in a cross-functional role with purchasing group to create cost estimates of packaging for new model parts
• Analyze part drawings and part specifications to determine best packaging choice
• Coordinate new and modified packaging testing, analyze results, and ensure designs meet Toyota and supplier requirements
• Build relationships between TEMA and suppliers to resolve issues concerning packaging and new model projects
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure shipping standards are followed and taking appropriate action in case of non-compliance

• Participate in abnormal problem solving by investigating part defects to determine whether or not the defect is packaging-related
• Countermeasure packaging problems that affect production and create packaging solutions that increase functionality of the package
• Utilize lean concepts to improve current processes and packaging concepts
• Ensure suppliers are adhering to packaging and shipping specifications
• Monitor production runs of new and modified packaging to confirm adherence to current machinery and standardized work
• Support packaging redesigns through selecting and testing packaging materials that are cost effective and will withstand standard shipping conditions
• Lead cost savings analyses and propose changes to and implement cost saving modifications to packaging
• Conduct line trials of new and modified packaging designs
• Act as primary contact for Route Planning, Parts Ordering, Quality, and Assembly Groups within manufacturing plant
