The Linger-Longer benches were designed for the Nando's Hot Young Designers competition, requiring a bench for patrons waiting for take-away orders. The bench had to accommodate COVID regulations, yet be easily adaptable once the pandemic subsides. Centred around the brand identity of Nando's, African patterns - specifically Ndebele patterns - were looked at for inspiration, in combination with vibrant colours. A simplistic linear design was created to be suitable for limited space, while occupying the same number of people regardless of the screens. Fastened to the bench framework with bolts and nuts, the screens can easily be removed when no longer required.
