I am a designer and illustrator working out of Boston, Mass. I combine my love of more traditional mediums and hand-rendered elements with digital design.
I studied illustration at RISD, where I graduated in 2000. I am a recent graduate of the Graphic Design program at Mass Art. While attending classes I supplemented my studies with various internships. Through these positions I have gained experience in multiple work environments and a wide variety of projects including print, web design, logos, branding, way-finding and package design. I am aspiring to combine these two disciplines and cultivate my career path as an illustrative designer.
Most of my illustration pieces focus strongly on an narrative, derived from childhood fairy-tales and myths. My work contains a certain duality, a mix between whimsical and playful with darker undertones and a dry sense of humor. My subject matter often revolves around baking, woodland critters, tattoos and a bit of a retro propaganda poster aesthetic.
My work has been exhibited far and wide including London, New York, Boston and L.A. These dark whimsical images have been printed in numerous publications including the Boston Weekly Dig, Mail Me Art Book, and Artscope magazine. I have collaborated in a variety of fantastic creative projects with clients including Hasbro and The Nanker Phlege.
Please contact me if you have any projects I may be a good fit for,
I am interested in designing toys, invitations, packages, character design, concert posters, t-shirts, painting and Illustration and much more!
