The idea behind Vanity Barcodes is adding some excitement and fun to a relatively under-served area of packaging design - the barcode. Vanity Barcodes customizes ordinary UPC barcodes and combines them with creative illustrations.

Share Some Candy was co-founded with Reuben Miller. It is a popular design inspiration blog featuring emerging work of artists, designers, illustrators and more from creatives worldwide. Share Some Candy is widely followed by the design community, with thousands of RSS subscribers and Twitter followers. The blog has been featured on Swiss-Miss, Decor8, ReadyMade Magazine and its content is re-blogged on numerous design blogs that see it as a leading source of inspiration.

The Dieline is a blog dedicated to packaging design, which is now the world's #1 leading packaging design blog with several million visits per month. I joined as the blog's first contributing editor in April of 2007, shortly after the blog was founded.

I coordinated and directed hands-on product development and packaging design at Astor Chocolate. Responsibilities included creative direction and design for new packaging collections, project management for new product development/launches, coordinating various departments within the company to 'make it happen' - like sales, design staff, purchasing and production divisions as well as direct involvement with vendors and senior management. Initiated & completed the design and development of several new product lines during my time with the company, which continue to be in use today (some collections I designed are still in use for as much as 5-7 years.)

Responsibilities included design from concept-to-completion for brand identity and packaged products. Specifically, I handled logo design, photo shoot direction, retouching, packaging design and pre-flighting of files.
