Junior Artist
Mediatonic
Sep 2013 - Sep 2014 (1 year)
Most of the projects I worked on with Mediatonic are unreleased so I am unable to share the names and details of the games I worked on at present.
In my role as Junior Artist, I provided 2D illustrations and vectors for various PC and mobile-device games. The majority of these were final, polished images featured in-game, though sometimes I would help concept characters or ideas alongside the leads.
Occasionally I would be called on for animation, and used Adobe Flash to create short animations of characters and effects that were again used in-game.

Functionality Tester
SEGA Europe Limited
Sep 2012 - Jun 2013 (9 months)
Whilst at SEGA, I gained extensive knowledge of Functionality Testing.
My task was to follow regimented Test Plans and ensure all aspects of the game were working correctly. When encountering errors, I would submit detailed bug reports containing steps to reproduce the in-game error, investigate how often the error occurred and whether it was limited to a specific piece of hardware.
Once the bug report was sent off and a new build created with a possible fix, it would then be my job to regress the error and check the game was functioning correctly again.

Illustrator and Animator
Gamar
Nov 2011 - Mar 2012 (4 months)
When I was an employee, Gamar was a small startup company based in London, creating videogames for mobile devices.
As 50% of the design team, I was responsible for storyboarding initial ideas, preparing the Power Point presentations for upcoming pitches, using Photoshop to create the in-game backgrounds and working with Adobe After Effects to animate the finished characters illustrated by my co-worker.
Occasionally I would contribute game ideas for the characters, story and gameplay. I was also on the team for the original pitch of the British Museum game 'A Gift for Athena' and did months of research into the Museum and the gameplay and story design for various exhibits.

Concept Artist
JD Wasabi Studios
Jun 2011 - Nov 2011 (5 months)
JD Wasabi Studios is a small independent gaming company which creates visual novel computer games. I worked on the demo for our first game 'Hungry Whispers', which was released in August 2011 but work is ongoing for the full version.
My job in this company was character designer, concept artist and background designer/artist.
I experimented with the method of illustrating over a 3D render another team member had created, to draw the backgrounds. In this case, backgrounds for a train. I also had a key part in developing the initial story and characters.
