EMA Multimedia, founded by Michael A. Pace was located in Los Angeles, California moved to a larger location in Brentwood, then onto Century City for the turn of the century until 2005. EMA multimedia owns a piece of DVD media history in that we designed and produced a lion’s share of movie to disc titles for the March 1997 world debut of DVD in conjunction with the Academy Awards.
Impressed by the creative work EMA’s interactive home video clientele blossomed to include: Columbia TriStar SONY, Sony Wonder, Pioneer, HBO Home Video, New Line Cinema, Universal Home Video, Fox Home Video, MGM Home Video and Warner Home Video. Work product included interactive on-sceen menuing, motion menus, games, video special features, and value added materials such as the first disc to web collaboration.
Exclusively for Newline Home video EMA developed custom motion GUI design and navigation programming that raised the bar. Most of Pace's DVD designs were "firsts" including introducing motion menuing for THE PLAYER, the first-ever DVD video based kids games on PINOCCHIO and the precedence setting (multiple-award winning) animated DVD menu for SPAWN. We set the industry standard for all DVD to follow.
EMA was the forefront of DVD technology since its introduction and consistently wins industry praise for its innovative interface designs. Awards included VSDA, IRMA, OVDA and an honored DVD Peoples Choice Award.
