In this assignment, we were to
pick a band and create a faux gig
poster for them. We chose the venue,
the genre, and the date. It simply had
to match the band’s style.
I chose My Chemical Romance.
This proved to be difficult because the
band had several different concepts
the have gone through with each CD
they’ve released. I chose to combine
these different concepts into one.
The silhouette of the guy holding
a gun out against the large combines
both their fourth CD and their second,
as well as the blood splatters against
the background. The grid-like background
represents their CD they’ve not
yet released, as the art at the bottom of
the poster shows off their first album
and their name reads in the font they
used for their third CD.
I decided that I wanted to place
them at the Congress Theatre in
Chicago, so I crated a silhouette of the
dome at the top.
