The Digital & Graphical Communication modules of the Architectural Technology course helped introduce me to the techniques of manual and digital representation necessary for the development and presentation of technical and graphical information in the various Technical Design Studio module projects.

The modules encouraged the development of freehand sketching, photography and model making combined with Computer aided design software such as CAD, Sketch Up, Autodesk Impression, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign and Autodesk Revit. Emphasis was taken on the presentation of the projects as well as the production of material.

A fully detailed Sketch Up model was developed in conjunction with AutoCAD plans and then edited in Photoshop to achieve the final image. The image was used in my groups 4th thesis presentation sheet to Dublin City Council. Software: Sketch Up, Photoshop and AutoCAD.

Sketch Up sun analysis is here used to explore the affect of the shadows by the trees after proposed thinning of the vegetation surrounding the site. This exampled shows the three chosen times of the day during the equinox. Software: Sketch Up
