Matthew Palizay

I am an illustrator. I tell stories and have a passion for characters. After earning a degree in IT and Communication/ Journalism, I knew I had to be drawing if I were going to be happy with my career, so I moved to Atlanta to study design and illustration at Portfolio Center. I quickly entered the freelance market and have since moved to the NYC area to continue my work.

I am inspired most by human form, shadow (lights and darks), and their potential to be dynamic. I've found that my most successful pieces are those that take advantage of that potential by creating flow and a sense of movement in the characters or lighting in each scene.
