Yapp - University of California, San Diego (Cogs 187a)

With a team of two other students, I created a prototype for a website called “Yapp.” Our project was to create a topical website of our choosing, so we decided to make a site that published crowd-sourced reviews on mobile applications.

We started by identifying three different user groups that we thought would use our website: mobile phone gamers, social media enthusiasts, and amateur smartphone users, then conducted interviews with members from each of these groups. We then created user scenarios for each user group to see how different people would interact with the site and used these scenarios to help us guide our design decisions.

After conducting user tests, we created wireframes of all of the major pages of our site using Axure. We used these wireframes to help us design our final prototype. We created all of the graphics and content of the site and produced a fully HTML/CSS coded prototype. I have included screenshots of our homepage as well as two second-level pages.
