University of Leicester website redesign

With a team of three other students, I redesigned the information architecture of the University of Leicester website to improve aspects of the navigation, visibility, and simplicity of the site.

We first identified 5 personas, then created 20 use cases for each persona so that we could compare how different users approach a university website. We then identified which of these tasks would be the most important to each persona, and focused on making these the easiest to navigate to.

We also did a comparative analysis of five other university websites. We looked at what information was available in navigation and the footer of each site in order to help us decide how to redesign the information architecture of the Leicester website. We compared the number of navigation elements along with the content available on each of the home pages to give us a better idea of how to redesign the site.

Using Axure, we created wireframes of the homepage and some of the second level pages.
