Mallory Rentsch is an Illustration major at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. When she was younger, she was inspired to create art by reading and admiring pictures in children’s novels. This adoration prompted her to develop an artistic style in which she uses soft edges and seamlessly shifting tones. In order to acquire this appearance, Mallory utilizes watercolor and colored pencil to achieve the detail and precision evident in her work. When she graduates in Spring of 2018, Mallory hopes to write and illustrate her own children’s books.
