Maegan Fee is a textile and surface designer devoted to the visual arts with over 12 years of industry experience. Her interest in art began during her childhood years when she started watercolor paintings with her grandfather, and continued to develop throughout her high school years when she was accepted into the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, the premier art high school in Palm Beach County, Florida. Maegan then went on to cultivate her innate color and design sense throughout her undergraduate years studying textile design at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). At RISD, Maegan gained experience in complex textile design, surface design and photography through classroom instruction and international study programs in Slovakia and New Zealand.
Most recently, Maegan worked as the Creative Director for Merida Meridian, a Massachusetts-based textile design company. At Merida, Maegan was the vision and force driving the creative direction for the company and brand strategy. In her role she was responsible for product design from concept to fruition and oversaw all marketing and merchandising efforts. In pursuit of the global market she traveled the world, from Tokyo to Sweden, and Belgium to Barcelona, for inspiration and to ensure that Merida was on the leading edge of the current global trends. Maegan has a natural ability to visualize the total package and firmly believes that the customer impression of the brand is one of the primary forces driving customer loyalty and demand. While many artists and designers struggle to work within constraints, this is one of Maegan’s greatest strengths, as she believes it pushes her creativity.
Currently Maegan lives in Boston working as an independent designer.
