Capital City Market is an alternate format store for Meijer in Lansing, MI. The focus is on fresh produce, grocery, a localized assortment and great value. Leading the Store Design team comprised of Architects and Interior Designers, we designed the interior of the store by establishing the layout of fixtures and equipment, selection and placement of furniture, design of unique fixtures and millwork, selection and placement of all interior finishes, and design of interior signage and graphics. The design intent is to ensure the interior of the space reflects the community the store is in. In a downtown setting, the finishes are genuine and authentic. Locally salvaged brick and wood create focal walls, polished concrete with visible aggregate is used for flooring, corrugated metal panels clad walls, and perimeter signage is hand painted. The store opened in mid-October 2020.
