Luke Harris is a British designer living and working in the UK. After graduating with a BA in Product Design in 2010, Luke spent a number of years working in a variety of positions for reputable design brands and studios, during which time he developed a particular interest in furniture and lighting. Pursuing this path, his interest gradually grew into the desire to start making his own products. Having no formal training or prior experience in furniture making, just last year Luke designed, made, and installed his first piece of hand-made furniture for a commercial client.
Luke's approach is a natural by-product of the influence he draws from Scandinavian Design and other styles typified by a pared back simplicity. "By simplifying our design solutions we help to maximise intuitiveness, approachability, functionality and infuse a more pleasurable user-experience: The very ethos that underpins the maxim 'Simplify to Maximise'. From a designer stand point, the less work we give ourselves the more time we have to play, and uncomplicated designs allow for a greater focus on detail; the functional and aesthetic poetry that frames our ideas."
In addition to his independent design work Luke also Co-owns, manages and designs for collaborative partnership Two&Two Design Studio.
