I was born in Norfolk, Virginia; a diverse, mid-size city, where I grew up and graduated from an intensive medical-prep program at Maury High School. Here, throughout the first 18 years of my life, I developed my passions for fashion, music, design, color theory, human anatomy, language, and the nexus between culture and the visual arts. I take pride in being a multifaceted creative that can pull from different areas for inspiration and direction. Through my industry experience, studying abroad with SRISA arts school in Florence, Italy, and as a student in the Department of Fashion Design at VCU's School of the Arts, I have learned many things such as how to research, construct, illustrate, conceptualize, and actualize collections. While I do enjoy working in teams and collaborating, perhaps the greatest lessons I have learned is how to rely on myself and my own intuition. Through exposing myself to new cultures, environments and perspectives, whilst staying rooted to what I believe in, I have gained confidence in my capability to design. I know who I am, I am confident, I have the passion, and I am fully prepared to work as hard as I can to achieve my goals of being an influential figure in the fashion industry.
