To take a journey in art is to follow a path that is never ending; you will never know all there is to know or see and discover all that is out there. You will find yourself 10 years down the path discovering new things, getting excited and inspired by the most ordinary of things. Question the media to which we are exposed, whether it be the design of a magazine cover, a window display, a package design, the layout of a room or even the shapes and lines of a shoe.
We all see the world differently, and when I take a moment to look around me, my mind starts to buzz with ideas about my material surroundings. I have always enjoyed art from an early age. My earliest memory of this passion is doodling on sheets of paper and creating cards for my family on holidays. I can remember spending most of my childhood just drawing and being inspired to make and design anything and everything! This love of art has stayed with me and developed and grown and, now, I cannot imagine wanting to do anything else.
At the same time, I’ve always been deeply interested in computing. It was my older brother, who begged my mother to buy a computer that first sparked my interest. I can always remember the feeling of wanting to know how computers worked, why they worked and what else they could do. I have come to realize that I have an interest to learn and analyze anything that sparks my curiosity. This interest never left me, only growing more profound with every new discovery I made. From turning on my first computer to seeing the wonders of the internet for the first time, computers have left me fascinated with just how much power they hold. These interests lead me to teach myself HTML5, CSS, JQuery and other programming languages.
I consider myself blessed to have grown up in the era when computers were just starting to blossom. Design is my passion and programming is my fascination. For those of us that choose art, it is not a career or a hobby, but a passion, a way of life.
