Fashion Show Assistant
Galashiels, United Kingdom
May 2015 - May 2015
I volunteered to work at the Graduate Fashion show this year so that I could experience working at a fashion show. I was to greet guests on the opening night of the show and on the second evening of the show myself and a small team where in charge of again greeting guests, checking the lists, giving out VIP and standard wrist bands and handing out Degree show programs. This was beneficial to me because hopefully when I graduate in two years my work will be part of the Graduate show and I was able to get a backstage view of what goes into the show, I also got to watch the show and experience the the atmosphere and see the work that current graduating students where designing which helped inspire me in my own work and helped me set goals for the future.

Intern
Saint Andrews, United Kingdom
Oct 2012 - Jun 2013 (8 months)
To gain experience working in a fashion environment I started a work placement at a fashion boutique in 2012. I was involved in the day-to-day runnings of the store such as; stock checks, unpacking deliveries, helping customers and making sales, restocking the store and steaming garments. I also helped with window dressing. The owner also asked me to help with the social media for the store e.g. the Facebook page, I would be in charge of photographing stock, editing it and then uploading it to the Facebook page. During my time at Elisabeth May I also was given the opportunity to attend fashion shows such as CATWALK and FS Charity fashion show both organised by St. Andrews University. Another role was to assist on buying trips once to Glasgow and also to Pure trade show in London.
