Product Designer
Bend, OR
2006 - 2015 (9 years)
I have spent a significant portion of my career building the Ruffwear brand through market-leading product design coupled with a professional and inspiring brand image.
Over the 9 years I was at the organization, I designed a huge variety of products, materials, and components. Examples include apparel, backpacks, footwear, webbing, rope, buckles, metal hardware and fabrics. My passion for design, fit and color really evolved the product line and helped create the internationally-recognized brand it is today.
I am very experienced in every step of the process to bring a product to market. At Ruffwear, I managed a collaborative design brief process, and delivered production-quality samples. Anything in between those steps falls within my capabilities: product research, brainstorming, sketching, physical design, design presentations, materials development, print design, tech pack creation, sample development in the US and Asia, color palette development, fit testing, functional testing, pattern development, size grading, nitpicking, and more!
I also used my passion and experience to develop the brand. I managed in-studio product photoshoots, created a guide for lifestyle photography and editing, wrote product copy for the website and workbooks, and redesigned the Ruffwear logo.
