Product Designer
Thumbs Up
London, United Kingdom
Nov 2012 - May 2015 (2 years 6 months)
ThumbsUP is a fast-paced home & gift ware company. After having my placement here I was invited back due to my diverse skill set and ability to learn skills quickly under pressure. I undertake a wide variety of tasks, taking charge of multiple design projects and managing ever-emerging deadlines. My primary role is to bring new ideas to the table and see these through to production.
My secondary role is as a Graphic Designer; I am skilled using Adobe software to create web images, logos, brochures, POS and packaging. I also re-designed the company’s stand for trade events. I created an easy to navigate, eye-catching stand which was nominated for ‘Best at show’ at the NEC Spring fair.

Product Design Intern
Thumbs Up (Placement)
London, United Kingdom
Aug 2009 - Aug 2010 (1 year)
As part of Bournemouth University Placement requirements I enquired if Thumbs Up would be interested in an intern.
I was the first student and full time product designer the company had hired (previously having outsourced all products).
Over the year we launched over 10 new products which we're wholly my design, some of which are still best sellers till this day such as the 'Man bowl'.
Thumbs up has continued to take students after the impact we initially had for them. After University I was invited back as a full time designer.

At Studio Levien I helped work on high end bathroom products. I primarily modelled accurate 1:1 scale sinks from blue foam. I designed and created technical drawings on AutoCAD and modelled my own sink range.
