Larysa Riddell

I am a bubbly, out-going young woman who has recently graduated in Product Design (BA) at The University of Derby. I consider myself to be hard-working, motivated and dedicated to design and am proud of my outcomes. I currently work as a Design Consultant at Wickes Kitchens and Bathrooms.

This portfolio highlights some of the key skills I have developed since enrolling at University, including my sketching, rendering and CAD skills.

Some Learning Objectives I have achieved include:

• Developing specific product design concepts that are marketed by specific brands, supporting brand values.

• Researching and analysing the work of particular Product Design Practitioners.

• Rationalising the conflicting demands of styling, ergonomics, manufacturing and sustainability imperatives within the Product Design Process.

• Analysing cultural aspects that determine the key semantic messages displayed by manufactured products and apply use centred design criteria in a design user need.

• Working collaboratively in a group to identify project requirements, seeking advice and conducting relevant market and product research.

• Professionally presenting initial concepts and market strategies for a product introduction to suit a specified scenario.
