Employer EDA Contractors is a Fabricator with a focus on production and installation of ACM (Aluminum Composite) Paneling for a variety of projects across the U.S. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting drawings and dimensions from third party vendors and clients and adapting them to field measurements taken by field staff. Utilizing a variety of programs including 2D CAD and 3D CAD, panels are designed, QC Checked, and nested in a 2D Program to be run on CNC Routing Tables in the onsite fabrication shop. Other responsibilities include: Detailing and Revising AutoCAD Drawings/Shop Drawings for customer requested changes, or changes in field conditions that require adjustments to final designs. Utilize 3D Modelling software to create layouts and parts using Total Station laser scans performed in the field, as well as reading and interpreting customer models and designs intended for fabrication. Works with customers and colleagues to bring a project from the quoting phase to shipment by understanding customer needs and designs and working with them to adhere to various shop and production capabilities. Creates 2D drawings for parts, weldments, and assemblies. Drawings are converted to CNC programs using various software that are specific to machines and the material types being used, with fastidious attention paid to machine limitations to allow for streamlined manufacturing. Fast paced atmosphere requires the Manufacturing Engineer to be on-call for questions or change requests from the machine operators. Contains a working knowledge of majority of projects in order to prepare for their shipment with all necessary parts, fabrications, and hardware for their assembly in the field. Prepared to take on team management responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met.
Other key role includes preparing PennFab Inc. for annual AISC (American Institute for Steel Construction) Audit, as well as preparing/updating the Quality Management System used by the company. The AISC Audit is a mandatory company-wide Audit where practices and procedures are scrutinized, including but not limited to: detailing, fabrication/shop procedures (i.e. welding, bolting, material storage, etc.), record keeping, machine calibration, employee training, purchasing and more. Since being given this responsibility, PennFab Inc. has satisfactorily passed each audit for the past three years.
