I strive to position myself as an eager, capable, and jovial professional demonstrating optimal levels of performance and accomplishment in the field of Landscape Design with particular interest in urban renewal, landscape renovation, and outdoor living. I am very detail oriented with strong core values and a charismatic, outgoing personality.
I entered college in 2002 without a clear career path, but my artistic and creative abilities led me towards an interest in architecture. However, being in my hometown of Charleston, SC which is known for its rich history and well-preserved architecture I decided to major in Historic Preservation and Community Planning. Eventually, after interning for a year at a successful Landscape Architecture firm I decided to further my education at Clemson University. I received my Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture in 2010.
My Community Design Studio from the Fall semester of 2008 was awarded the 2009 US Environmental Protection Agency's Environmental Justice Achievement Award. In addition, the class was nominated by Clemson University for the South Carolina Committee for Higher Education Service Award (each university is allowed only one nominee per year).
In 2010 I was hired as a laborer at Coastal Landscape Design where I began with landscape maintenance and hardscape installation. I quickly worked my way up to General Manager and since my new position the company has experienced a surge of growth and increase in work volume. I often meet with customers and formulate designs and estimates based on their needs and my expertise. I also aid in the construction process: I supervise on-site operations, make sure proper materials are available and being used efficiently, and help with hands-on construction tasks at times.
