Panasonic: PT-60DL54 / PT-50DL54 TV Stand This was a TV stand designed for a DLP TV in 2004. This particular DLP TV product utilized a TV chassis identical to one used by another Panasonic division which manufactured LCD projection TVs. One of the problems was that a DLP TV was a more expensive high-tech product and there was a need to differentiante from the lower quality LCD TV models. Developing a new TV chasis for DLP products was not possible due to cost issues and simply applying different colors or textures was not going to create enough differentiation. For this reason, this project focused primarily on designing the TV stand which could have its own unique design and allow for differentiation.
Panasonic: PT-53TW53 CRT Projection TV This was a flat Screen CRT projection TV designed for the US market in 2003. The key challenge was to design a flat screen TV which at that time was an expensive product in such a way that it has a perceived high value (a good “bang-for-the-buck”deal). To achieve this, built in storage (at the bottom), built-in sound system with good sound image and a thin depth image were utilized even though this was a deep product.
Panasonic: PT-52LCX65/PT-61LCX DLP TV This was a DLP TV design which was introduced to the market in 2005. The design implemented smooth curved surfaces which blended with the TV stand (giving it a complete & integrated product image when combined with the TV). This encouraged the customers to buy the stand along with the TV as opposed to just buying the TV.
Panasonic: LCD TV Concepts These were concept for a 13" LCD TV which was going to be used in a wide range of house environments (due to its small size). One such possible environoment was a kitchen counter. Other environments were also considered in the early phase of the design process, but concepts involving other environments were dropped later on in the project.
Panasonic: Disk Remote This is a remote controller project done in 2001. This was the first project I ever did at Panasonic.
