I'm an illustrator/designer/muralist specializing in hand-drawn & painted work. My style is influenced by the vibrant symbolism of the 20th century Mexican muralists, the bold graphic rhythms of Celtic knotwork & the clean transitions of the 1950s Californian hard-edge painters.
Before migrating to Idaho, I honed my skills in Huntington Beach, California by designing/illustrating promotional flyers, ads, stickers & t-shirts for punk bands & underground nightclubs. I also created custom flash for clients of the Hollywood tattoo shop I apprenticed in. I created logos, literature & banners for international activist groups and for cultural celebratory events. I gained substantial experience painting murals & street art - both commissioned & "uncommissioned" pieces. I designed/painted murals in businesses, clubs & private homes throughout southern California. My acrylic/gouache paintings are in private collections throughout California, Mexico & Ireland.
I'm currently writing, designing & illustrating Urban Wild, a comic book based on the adventures & perceptions of untamed creatures (possums, bats, etc.) that occupy the cities with us.
Thank you for your interest in my design portfolio :) - Kelsey
