mosa was inspired by the congruent coming together of shapes--tessellations and mosaics. exploring simple movements of 3-dimensional shapes lead to the design of a space heater that capitilizes on increasing and decreasing surface area. In use, the heater opens and becomes dynamic. When not in use, the heater remains closed and static without demanding attention. mosa offers a more expressive interaction between person and object, allowing a turn of the handle to immediately influence how hot the heater becomes.

Inspired by tessellations, mosa kinetic space heater capitalizes on the increasing and decrease surface area of 3D shapes coming together and moving apart. A turn of the handle expands the heater walls, exposing ceramic heating elements inside, creating an expressive product with a unique interaction.
