As an instructor, I bring my professional experience to provide students a wide range of opportunities to explore and define themselves as designers. My personal interest is in educational strategies, techniques and materials with focus on kindergarten and elementary school learning needs. Building on this interest, I ran several programs involving my design students and various kindergartens to create a collaboration where design students interact with teachers and children, observe and discover learning needs and prototype and test design concepts to experience user-centered design process. I have also planned and hosted international workshops with partnering schools, led teams of students to plan and execute design exhibitions locally and internationally, and led collaborative Design Research projects with Taiwanese industry-leading corporations.
Classes and skill sets that I have been responsible in conducting include: Product Design Studio classes, Design Drafting, Visual Communication, Design Communication techniques, Introductory NURBs application and model making techniques.
Collaboration project partners include: HIWIN Technologies CORP. and CST Maxxis Tires.

English Teacher (National Service)
Jhong Siao Primary school
Taiwan
May 2012 - May 2013 (1 year)
The main role of my national service in Taiwan is working as a teaching assistance in an elementary school to promote the English language. The students are mostly under privileged kids who come from low-income, single parent families, or raised by their grandparents only. I bring my professional experiences in design to teaching using workshop organization skills to design and run various learning camps and workshops where I focus on improving students' ability to generate content. I also arrange cultural exchange sessions between my international buddies and the students using video chat to expose the students to cultures far away, emphasizing on the importance of the English language as a vital tool for reaching beyond their own world.
