Construction and modernization of education and government facilities has been a part of my life since I first began working. My father owns a family construction company that worked on hundreds of local schools, community centers, libraries to name a few. I had the privilege of working for this company for 17 years. It's there I learned the fundamentals of business, construction, design, and management and learned skills such as team work, communication, scheduling, and budgeting. I also picked up a keen understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, along with other trade work such as carpentry and civil engineering. This foundation was paramount in my eventual desire to design, develop, and manage projects. Along the way, my experience led me to work as a project manager overseeing field operations in mid-high rise construction and tenant improvement projects with a design-build contractor. This included highly visible projects like building out an architecture firm, engineering firm, and law firm, as well as restaurant space, and a seismic upgrades projects at a downtown high-rise. That experience was priceless but ultimately my desire to return to public works construction arena with an emphasis on the development and management of school construction led me join a local school District, where I currently act in the role of Construction Project Manager.
