James Richards

As design supervisor I manage the workflow of the design department. I prioritize and schedule projects submitted to design in an effort to keep progress fast and efficient. I work closely with our sales team, account managers, and production managers to ensure they get what they need from design in a timely manner. I've become proficient at corrugated, foam, and crate design. I understand the manufacturing processes and the unique characteristics of the materials we use. I've loved this industry because I can be creative in my design work as well as use my technical skills to create the best designs for the specified applications.

As a design manager I was involved in the entire manufacturing process. I created and controlled documentation and ensured quality. I worked with vendors on custom manufactured parts. I coordinated with the shop manager to keep work flow going. I worked out customer needs and implemented them into the projects. I enjoy being involved in the whole manufacturing process.

I love the design process, taking new or old ideas and making them better. I am an experienced SolidWorks user. I know Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator well. I have experience prioritizing and managing projects. I work well with others and enjoy working in a group. While I prefer working in a group and feel that a team effort produces the best results, I can work independently and get the job done.
