Designer- Women's Denim/ Wovens/ Sportswear
Los Angeles, CA
Jun 2011 - Present (13 years 5 months)
• Integral part of the team moving the Silver Jeans customer forward in a more contemporary direction. Attends trade shows as a company representative twice annually in Las Vegas. Travels to Winnipeg to collaborate with multiple departments in the Canadian studio to present the new product line and conduct product reviews.
• Consistently delivers trend right styles with attention to detail; producing best-sellers for the requirements of specialty accounts as well as core customers.
• Fearless in taking on difficult art driven styles such as florals and prints, using new and innovative techniques that other designers shy away from, creates original artwork that rivals and exceeds higher priced competitors.
• Key team member collaborating with the design director to update all the fits, pocket size/placement, construction details, and creating stitch templates to take the product to a more sophisticated direction as well as reducing cost to become more relevant and price competitive in the middle tier market.
• Key Designer in the new and growing Sportswear line. Initial launch had 5 SKUs every other season. The line grew to 20+ SKUs including sweaters, rayon plaids, peasant tops, dresses, jackets, and bottoms every season through affordable trend-right styles embodying the Silver Jeans Co look. Note: the old Sportswear line was discontinued prior to 2014 and for 10 years prior had continually failed to perform and sell; even with multiple design teams.
• Key Designer to introduce “color sense” into the Sportswear line; this change added variety and femininity to an otherwise basic palette, as well as creating a unifying color story throughout all product categories.
• Conducted Sportswear “fittings” for new fashion silhouettes without a fit model for preliminary development stages.
• Works closely with Product management team and import vendors in China, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, India, Turkey, Mauritius, Bangladesh and Indonesia.
