Since the very beginning of my professional career, I have worked for manufacturing companies of consumer products, collaborating in areas and functions such as design, packaging, tool making, almost everything related to plastic products. This experience, in 2000 motivated me to become a specialist in Plastic Part Design by studying a master degree in the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain.
In 2003, I was invited to collaborate full time as academic director and student advisor for the Industrial Design program of the Monterrey Institute of Technology Campus State of Mexico, holding that position until 2006 when my interests turned to focus on academic and design consultancy activities.
As scholar and design professional, I was involved in the instruction and application of new technologies and tools that support the process of developing new products like computer aided design and simulation, rapid prototyping, 3d scanning and CNC. Also, I have led student’s projects with focus on innovation methods and strategies that direct to create meaningful and competitive products.
Currently, I am in charge of the design department at PTM Solutions (www.ptmsolutions.com), leading a team of designers and engineers to create innovative, highly functional and competitive plastic products for markets such as material handling, furniture, point of purchase materials and coolers.
