Low fidelity prototyping: Gather requirements and prototyped billing features for internal and external stakeholders using Balsamiq. Present prototypes to internal product and external stakeholders. Gather feedback and finalize a signed off design. External stakeholders have included multi-million dollar account holders.

High fidelity prototyping: After low fidelity prototype signoff, produced pixel-perfect mockups using HTML5, CSS3, and JQuery. Worked with offshore team to “wire” these front-end prototypes into the product. Used Jquery libraries to produce original (but common sense) solutions to challenging UI problems.

Usability evaluations: Produced expert reviews of applications and features. Presented findings to product teams. Prioritized issues for placement in the usability queue.

Other Responsibilities: Serving as user experience copywriter for all product UIs. Designed wiki-based product knowledgebase CMS.

Used Adobe CS5 to create marketing and technical communications for LED lighting systems.

Researched and wrote technical business proposals for energy projects.

Conducted competitive analysis of home energy savings products for startup company CEO.

Taproot matches non-profits and teams of professional volunteers to build non-profit infrastructure.

Provided website information architecture and project management services for Outdoor Explorations’, a Medford-based not-for-profit. Tasks included designing navigation structure, site layout, and web 2.0 features.

Designed and conducted usability testing and review for new web-based product, playing lead role in fulfilling a key Ipswitch value proposition—product usability.

Researched, designed, and authored whitepapers for key product features, activities usually performed by external consultants.

Administered content management system for product documentation and collateral. Wrote documentation and whitepapers for new products and features.

Wrote all overviews for MetraTech’s flagship product—an enterprise-wide billing system with multiple roles and a unique platform vocabulary. This greatly reduced need for product training, making new revenue streams available. Also increased revenue by providing sales with compelling summaries of product features. Overviews were often deployed during the sales process. CEO awarded overview project MetraTech’s “Outstanding Achievement” award.

Oversaw publication of all documentation as sole writer for two releases following a company restructuring.

Designed and created documentation department web site, CD splash screen, CD label, product release notes, and product documentation home page.

Helped write sales proposals, served on product positioning committee. Supported sales by creating graphics for presentations and collateral.

Authored guides for HCI products, including system administrator guides, user guides, quick references, training materials, and online help. Created original layout and design for all product manuals. Updated graphics and content for company website. Participated in UI design and evaluation meetings.
