Hello,
I am James McGurl, but I prefer to use my middle name "Max." Currently, I am a Senior Industrial Designer creating point of purchase displays and retail environments for Envision Solutions Group in Cumberland Rhode Island.
Since I graduated in 2013 from the Rhode Island School of Design, I have focused on working in the point of purchase display industry. I enjoy the accelerated timeline the industry demands and volume of projects in development simultaneously. Designing a display in CAD, sending it to the customer, creating technical drawings, prototyping the display, and manufacturing hundreds or thousands of what was simply a concept rendering a few weeks before is something I have always found immensely satisfying. Throughout my career, I have been involved in all aspects of development and now primarily focus on concept design and drafting.
When I'm not working as a designer, I'm an avid runner and regularly compete in road races throughout New England, I ski in the winter and sail in the summer.
