Public Relations: Mackenzie Scott Gift Announcement
November 2022 was an amazing time for NICHQ! We had news to share - we were one of the recipients of Mackenzie Scott's major philanthropic investments that year, receiving a $4 million donation.
We had an internal contact at the Boston Globe and negotiated an exclusive with them. Having a breaking story was advantageous and positioned us well for media inquiries - I created talking points for our CEO, COO, and our VP of Health Equity Innovation, as well as coached them ahead of the on-site interview in Boston.
Shortly after, it was TV time! I coached them remotely to successfully navigate two television interviews in the same day - and they did an amazing job. From media, we took it to LInkedIn and social, where we could leverage our team's personal networks to amplify this messaging.
