My identity as a warm but playful creative professional results from more than 15 years of experiences in graphic design, writing, copy editing, photography, public relations, marketing, event planning, social media, and intersectional social justice work.
My biggest passions are creating useful, beautiful things and helping people - even better if the things I create can help people! My past and current work in nonprofits really showed me the power that high-quality visual design lends to awareness-building about important social justice issues. My past work in a more corporate, B2B context taught me the expectations of high-level design deliverables. (Also, access to high quality equipment upped my appreciation for a well-crafted prototype!) My past work in a college setting and newsroom have kept me high energy and just the right amount of weird. My experiences with rebranding multiple organizations allows me to bring a love for creative process, ideation theory, and multi-faceted perspectives to other design challenges.
I value the supportive effect of trusted teamwork, the freedom of eclectic creativity framed in process, and a serious commitment to details and quality. In order to feel fulfilled and most useful to an organization, I need to work in a mission-driven environment where I can offer up my patchwork quilt of skills for the use of the team.
