Op-Ed Writing: To Improve Maternal Health, We Must Depoliticize Racial Equity
NICHQ is part of the Coalition for Anti-Racism in Maternal and Child Health (CARE for MCH), and about a year after we co-released a Joint Organizational Commitment, we followed up with an op-ed drawing attention to disparities in maternal health and gaps in data recently released by CDC.
Working in collaboration with communications leads from coalition orgs, I led development of the outline and authored the op-ed, coordinating review among CEOs of the coalition and creating a shop-around schedule based on the very specific submission guidelines/restrictions of each publication.
