Jex Chau (Wing Huen Chau), an emerging designer. Jex graduated from RMIT industrial design program in 2012 and Monash industrial design master program in 2013, majoring in automotive and transport design. In 2011, he carried out studies in Korea at KAIST University for a semester as an exchange student, to explore and widen his design thinking.
Interested in gadgets from a young age, Jex aims to imbue design with beauty function and simplicity. Inspired by Japanese design culture and design philosophy, Jex’s hallmark is the color ‘white’ which applies to all of his design work. With existing design benchmark and philosophy, Jex tend to apply these and push beyond the limit, to seek for a design theme.

Jex believes that design’s role is to create a better future for society and individuals. He sees the value in intelligent forms and the integration of simple technologies. Jex applies simple mechanical solutions to design objects for batch production, celebrating handcraft techniques and traditions.
