While this piece is showcased as a jpeg, the font was originally handwritten and then added to Adobe Illustrator to clean up the lines and then using FontLab's TypeTool a font was created. This font is meant to represent letters as they would be written or painted with a brush. The idea for this font came about due to a logo design project I was working on for a fictional company called "Kokeshi Press." In Japan there are "Kokeshi Scroll Dolls" which are wooden dolls that have a scroll of parchment wrapped around the body that ends in what looks like a kimono, the parchment can be used to write farewell messages or the dolls are given as souvenirs. This font was designed with those elements in mind.

Hand-drawn font converted using Adobe Illustrator to a vector graphic and then font created with Fontlab software. This project was created for the Kokeshi Press logo design to recreate a brush stroke style.
