"Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy."
- Innovated details to an existing design to be able to pass safety regulations, accuracy concerns for the implementation of a new part for the small drive unit
- Identified and corresponded with vendors for rapid prototyping and new equipment quotes to improve the line processes when implementing a new machined part in coordination with ergonomic, engineering, health, and safety
- Designed and implemented a gauge and collector for the large drive unit line to ensure that copper bars placed on the line were separated prior to washing to ensure that grease and other contaminants would not exist when inserted into the stator unit; creating a buildup of copper bars on the line and alerting the associate. Simple, cheap, and easy. formed by sheet metal and this was created in adjunct with a PCA which was created for the Large Drive Unit. This gage will be able to stop stacked copper bars from entering the washer and dryer machine. This enables the ability to remove a portion of the line which alleviates maintenance as well as bent bars that have the need to be recycled. Pre-cut LDU copper bars will now be placed and the conveyor will also be shortened. it seems more than likely that these gages will not have to be replaced very frequently at all because they are quite thick and are not easily destroyed; perhaps once a year at most if the gage is left as it is where it is installed and not manipulated.
- Produced and implemented a solution for the coolant jets on the CNC lathes to provide a stable structure in preventing associates in knocking the coolant pipes into an ineffective position
- Initiated business relationships with suppliers to save $3,000 per part and in turn reducing the amount of scrap rotors
- Developed workflows and processes to increase efficiency on manufacturing lines
