SPARK!'s mission is to promote growth for students in innovation and creative design, through the use of teamwork, networking, and mentorship, in an exciting and challenging environment. Projects are based on the Grand Challenges -- a list of the world's biggest engineering challenges as selected by the National Academy of Engineering.
During this SPARK Competition, I was the college student in a group with two other high schoolers who were choosing to participate in this event hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. I was able to guide the other members of my group by initiating the tasks that would have to be done within the given time. By recalling past experiences, we were able to plan out our courses of actions in order to finish the task of creating and implementing a creative game design within the time allotted. We won the award for Team Spirit and Creativity.
