During my first year, upperclassman challenged me to design a better seat for the trike that year, a seat that would be mechanically adjustable, yet lightweight. For every year in the past, the seat was created from random ideas and none seemed to be very comfortable or effective for different sized riders. And so, with guidance and assistance from my teammates, I was able to successfully lead and complete this project to create a design that was much more lightweight and efficient than what had ever been done before, reducing the weight by eight pounds from the year prior.
