For this project, we designed and welded pieces together to create a headphone display stand. The design was based on a standard set of headphones that would be able to accommodate different sized ear pads as well as thin or wide headbands. The two main side walls are omega-shaped. This shape allows the headphones tol be able to rest on the stand without any stretching in the band. This give them a “relaxed” state. For the supports of the walls, the design intent was to create simple, and effective parts to connect the two walls. These are represented by two wall pieces and a single top plate. The overall assembly design has each of the support pieces that are inset a ¼” from the edges. For all the pieces, the parts are made from 11-gauge, or ?” steel.
