As a packaging format, toy trains face left. As plans change a decision needs to be made. Is it faster and less expensive to reshoot or use existing assets? The inset is the original. The top train is flopped with readable graphics. The new train graphics is made with imperfections to match the original.
Graphics are added to the photo by importing vector images. The artwork is built to accommodate changes in styles and percentages for the future and is named to be searchable through the companies DAM (data asset management system
Artwork often needs to be extended. Especially web banners. There isn't always enough information in the photo to start. In this case it was easier to get a similar marble (circle inset), alter the color, and blend it to the photo.
Removing the lamp and end table presented a challenge. The room has textured hotel wallpaper and the bed linen has patterns. In the original photo the wallpaper goes in and out of focus. It is easier and faster to create a new patch of wallpaper. This patch was created in illustrator and modified in photoshop.
The product is chiefly the pacifier. All pacifiers were updated to have it in focus. Challenges were: matching the floor and improving the blue shadow cast by the translucent rubber.
