My name is Jordan Clark. I am a painter/Designer here in North Portland. I am currently working at Artist & Craftsman Supply on N. Lombard. A lot of my day-to-day routine involves taking calls, assisting customers with with various projects. I consider myself to be a team player and take pride in whatever task I am involved in.
I recently graduated with my MFA in Contemporary Art Practices at Portland State University. In our program we learned to write grants/proposals, keep an organized schedule, and communicate with Professors, students and Gallery directors, visiting artists and writers.
While I was getting my Associates Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration I help the position of Office Assistant at an Occupational Training center helping older and recently laid-off workers. I learned how to direct calls, create spreadsheets and track data. I also was the first person of contact at the office, which helped me establish long-term relationships with our clients. During that time I also assisted Madison College’s Graphic Design team in designing and carrying out a new website for our center during a School-wide re-branding.
Throughout the years I’ve been involved in many Design/Art projects ranging from Logo design and branding to helping with murals, screen printing, and producing large banners for trade shows. I’m pretty laid-back, but also hard-working and eager to collaborate. In my spare time I bike around and photograph graffiti on trains and explore weird parts of the city. I play soccer religiously on my two days off and otherwise stay busy with painting and drawing.
The years are flying by, and I’d like to work at a place where I can be around other creative folks and learn by observing and participating in the process when needed.
