PHD AND MASTER’S DEGREE IN DESIGN, MORE THAN 10 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL AND ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE.
Professor Ivan Santos is an Adjunct Professor of Product Design, in the Arts and Design Institute department at the Juiz de Fora Federal University (UFJF). He holds a Master degree in Design, Innovation and Sustainability at School of Design, UEMG (Minas Gerais State University, Brazil). After finishing his dissertation, he moved to Juiz de Fora and founded a design lab called NUVEN (Nucleus of Virtualities and Essays in Design) and his DsC. Ivan’s doctoral research is on the influence of technology, mindset and motivation on designers’ education. He aims to understand how designers come across and are influenced by potential instructional practices. Since 2008 develops several projects for Small Businesses in partnership with SEBRAE, the Brazilian Entrepreneur Support System. Professor Ivan coordinates and manages the bachelor’s degree in Design, since 2019, and his students have accomplished many awards and mentions both in academic and professional areas.

Finalist of iF Student Design Award 2009 - Work rated as one of the 300 best student projects in the world. Exposed poster work at the Hannover International Fair in Germany, March 2009.
Participant of the Young Citizens of the World 2009 Program in the city of Torino, capital of Piedmont, Italy. Approximately 45 days course at the Turin Polytechnic with emphasis on: product design, systemic design, design and territory, food design and design and technologies.
