ASID (SRB) STUDENT REP TO THE BOARD

I am very honored and excited to sit on the ASID Board with ten of some of the area’s most amazing talents and mentors.
The details of the position include, but are not limited to, being the Student Representative to ASID Board, Washington DC Metro Chapter. Monthly Board meetings to go over the FY financials, President and President-Elect specifications. The projects consist of planning with ASID, IIDA, IDA, Howard University, Marymount University, Georgetown University, and NOVA Universities. My role is to facilitate the connection from student to professional and to help bridge that gap through mentor-ship, education, professional job fairs, hands on resume and portfolio building workshops, just to name a few of the developments in progress.

I was renewed three times to stay on board under The Office of Administration, in the Facilities Design Department as an Interior Designer and Space Planning Specialist Intern for The White House. Job details include but are not limited to projects with The Eisenhower Executive Building (EEOB) Secretary of War, Cordell Hull, Law Library, Truman Bowling Alley, South Court, Navy Steps, The New Executive Office Building(NEOB) PIAB, The East and West Wing, White House Fellows, GSA, White House Military Office (WHMO), Kennedy Center Presidential Box Seating. These are just some of the projects I have worked on here in the past year. I also helped develop cost estimates, proposals, construction documents, participating in GSA visits and meetings, conducting pre and post occupancy evaluations. Providing quality customer service and support to this diverse customer base. Speaking with outside clients to facilitate the movement forward on projects within budget guidelines. Preparing design presentations and floor plans using PowerPoint, Adobe In Design, Sketch-up and Auto CAD, Revit.
